History

  • Kennebec Lumber was established in 1999 and operations began in 2000.
  • Kennebec Lumber is a subsidiary of E.J. Carrier, Inc.
  • Purchase approximately 20 million board feet of logs annually.
  • 90% of the logs come from certified loggers and certified lands.
  • Logs are purchased from regions with the highest quality hardwoods.
  • Kennebec Lumber has 7 log yard locations;
    • Maine yards: Solon (mill location), Alfred, Bethel and Windham.
    • New Hampshire yards: Warren and Troy
    • Vermont Yard: Glover
  • Purchase all species and grades to meet and satisfy the needs of the loggers and landowners.
  • Employ approximately 40 employees.
  • Have doubled in size since 2000 and production has increased by 4 million feet. Annual production is approximately 12 million BF.
  • Mill contains the latest in technology which include 3D headrig, 3D edger, and 3D trimmer. Thus, making it one of the most advanced mills the country.
  • Logs are watered from May to October to guard against stain.
