History

  • Kennebec Lumber was established in 1999 and operations began in 2000.
  • Kennebec Lumber is a subsidiary of E.J. Carrier, Inc.
  • Purchase approximately 20 million board feet of logs annually.
  • 90% of the logs come from certified loggers and certified lands.
  • Logs are purchased from the northeast region of the country with the highest quality hardwoods.
  • Kennebec Lumber has 8 log yard locations;
    • Maine Yards: Solon (mill location), Bethel, Waterboro and Windham.
    • New Hampshire Yards: Warren and Troy
    • Vermont Yard: Glover
    • New York Yard: North Hampton
  • Purchase all species and grades to meet and satisfy the needs of the loggers and landowners.
  • Employ approximately 50 employees.
  • Have doubled in size since 2000 and production has increased by 4 million feet. Annual production is approximately 12 million BF.
  • Mill contains the latest in technology which includes 3D headrig, 3D edger, 3D trimmer, optimized ripping, 3D color grading. Thus making it one of the most advanced mills in the country.
  • Logs are watered from May to October to guard against stain.
